Apple opened pre-orders for iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, on Friday, October 16, at 5 a.m. PT. The device arrives in stores and with carriers on October 23, 2026.

Price and storage

Apple announced iPhone Duo on September 9. According to MacRumors, U.S. pricing is:

  • 256GB: $1,999
  • 512GB: $2,199
  • 1TB: $2,599
  • 2TB: $3,199

MacRumors reports that the October 23 launch covers the U.S. and more than 70 other countries and regions, with 28 more following on October 30. It comes in two colors: star white and night sky.

Two displays

Apple says iPhone Duo has the largest iPhone display ever. The inner folding Super Retina XDR display is 7.6 inches, which Apple says is 50% larger than the display on iPhone 18 Pro Max. Closed, the 5.4-inch outer display offers 90% of the screen area of iPhone 18 Pro, according to Apple. The company also says that, opened, it is the thinnest iPhone ever.

Chip, battery and cameras

  • Chip: A20 Pro, with a vapor chamber for thermal management
  • Battery: a dual-battery system; Apple rates it for up to 31 hours of video playback on the inner display and up to 44 hours on the outer display
  • Rear cameras: 48MP Fusion Main with an integrated optical-quality 2x telephoto, and a 48MP Fusion Ultra Wide that also handles macro
  • Front cameras: a 12MP Center Stage camera, plus a FaceTime camera placed under the inner display
  • Durability: IP68 rating for splash, water and dust resistance

Software built for folding

iPhone Duo runs iOS 27, which Apple says reacts as the phone folds, reorients when turned sideways and switches to the right display when flipped over. The large screen supports Split View multitasking, and StandBy works on either display, even when the phone isn't charging.

The phone also supports Siri AI, Apple's new version of Siri powered by Apple Intelligence. It is rolling out in beta in English with iOS 27, and Apple says it will not initially be available in the EU or in China.

Accessories and trade-ins

Apple is selling an iPhone Duo Folio with a built-in kickstand and a thin two-part iPhone Duo Case. Both work with MagSafe and Qi2 25W chargers. Apple Trade In offers a credit of $175 to $885 for an eligible iPhone 13 or newer, according to Apple.
